Other World Computing (OWC) on Tuesday announced that it has added a new 100GB, 7200RPM model to its On-the-Go external hard disk drive line. On-the-Go drives measure 3.5 x 5.5 x 1 inch and feature either FireWire 400 or FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces. They feature 8MB of cache and use shock isolation technology. The new 100GB drive costs $349.99 for the FireWire version or $359.99 for the FireWire/USB 2.0 version.
In related news, OWC is also offering a new 60GB On-the-Go mode that features a disk drive mechanism that spins at 7200RPM. The 60GB drive costs $239.99 for the FireWire-only version or $249.99 for the FireWire/USB 2.0 version.
OWC also lowered rates for OWC.net, its Internet service. The service now starts at $5.99 per month for dialup in the Chicago area, $7.45 per month for nationwide dialup service and $14.99 for DSL. Each account features 10 e-mail addresses, spam and virus protection, Web-based e-mail, RSS and podcast services and 50MB of Web space.
