Fremont, Calif.-based AOC Displays on Tuesday introduced new 15- and 17-inch LCD TVs with inputs that allow them to be connected to a Mac or PC. The A15X221 and A17UX231 are part of AOC’s Envision series and cost US$279 and $429 respectively.
The new displays both feature a standard TV tuner and connections for cable, video and an analog computer input. They also sport built-in speakers, headphone outputs and remote control. They’re also wall-mountable. AOC has created the AOC TV to appeal to users with limited space who want both a TV and a computer display.
The 15-inch display features native 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and a 400:1 contrast ratio. The A15X221 will be available in October.
The 17-inch display, the A17UX231, features 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution and 700:1 contrast ratio. It also features an 8 millisecond (ms) response time. It’s coming in November.
The Envision and AOC Web sites had not been updated with information about the A17UX231 display as MacCentral posted this article.
