XtremeMac on Friday announced a complete line of products especially designed for Apple’s iPod nano. The line includes an FM transmitter, portable speakers, cases and more. XtremeMac says the new products will be shipping now through the first week of November.
AirPlay2 is a new version of XtremeMac’s FM transmitter designed to work with the iPod nano, but also compatible with iPods and iPod minis. The FM transmitter supports three programmable station presets, Mono Mode for better reception and a blue display with white characters. Unlike its predecessor, the AirPlay2 uses the Dock Connector and has a pass-through female Dock Connector for connecting to car chargers or other products. It will ship in black or white finishes for US$59.95.
The $119.95 MicroBlast is a portable speaker system designed specifically for the iPod nano. It lets you play and charge the nano simultaneously and outputs three watts per channel over four speakers. It also includes a travel pouch and interchangeable black and white frames. It’s powered by an AC adapter or four AA batteries.
Iconz is a new line of iPod nano cases that feature pop culture icons including SpongeBob Squarepants, Darth Vader, Bart Simpson, Speed Racer and more — including Major League Baseball logos. There are 12 designs in all, priced at $24.95 each.
TuffWrap is a silicone case that features a clear screen protector and tread-style side grips. It’s available in nine colors packaged in groups of three for $24.95, or a single translucent white case for $19.95.
The $49.95 MicroFlex Car is a car mounting system for the iPod nano that also charges the iPod nano through the car’s 12-volt accessory outlet. It’s compatible with AirPlay2 and XtremeMac’s own cassette adapter. It’s available with a black cassette adapter for $69.95.
The Car Charger powers and charges any Dock Connector-equipped iPod through a 12-volt accessory outlet, comes in black or white and costs $19.95. Bundled with a matching AirPlay2, it costs $79.95.
The SportWrap secures the iPod nano to your arm or write with adjustable velcro straps for workouts or other activity, while providing “play-through” access to the Click Wheel and Display. Available in black, the SportWrap costs $29.95.
The MicroSport is a $29.95 foam rubber grip that can be secured with and adjustable handstrap and held in the palm of your hand. Designed for joggers and walkers, the MicroSport comes in black and purple.
The $24.95 iceFrame is a two-piece shell made of impact-resistant plastic that provides full access to the iPod nano’s control. It comes with interchangeable Click Wheel “accent rings” in black, white, red and blue with matching connector posts.
The MicroShield is a two-piece shield that snaps onto the front and back of the iPod nano to protect it from scratches. It comes with an integrated belt clip and costs $19.95.
The MicroGlove is a two-tone neoprene sleeve equipped with a removable carabiner. It comes in five color combinations and costs $19.95.
The iBling lets you create custom-designed interchangeable covers for the iPod nano — the kit includes 750 stones, non-toxic glue an application tool and two clear snap-on shields. XtremeMac had not updated their site with information about the new accessories as Playlist posted this news, but hints about the product line on their home page.
