Blue Microphones released its Snowball USB Microphone on Friday at the Audio Engineering Society (AES) conference in New York. The microphone is compatible with both Mac and PCs.
According to the company, The Snowball’s versatility is achieved by its unique dual-capsule design, with one capsule tailored for vocals and the other for instruments. Using the three-position switch on the back of the mic lets you change between the capsules.
The first position activates the cardioid pattern capsule with a neutral sonic signature, the second position activates the cardioid capsule with a 10dB pad and the third position activates the omni-directional capsule with a brighter overall sound.
The Snowball USB Microphone is available in music instrument stores and consumer electronics locations for US$155.
