For the past year or so, anytime I found something in the iTunes Music Store that I thought I might want to buy someday, I added it to my iTunes Shopping Cart.
Then, a couple of weeks ago, my Shopping Cart disappeared.
Or, rather, I could no longer get to it. Anytime I tried, I’d get an Error 502, saying my Shopping Cart wasn’t available at this time and that I should try back later. After trying back repeatedly, and then unsuccessfully trying a few tweaks I’d found online, I finally sent Apple support an e-mail. The reply:
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused. You should now be able to sign in to the iTunes Music Store and access your shopping cart. Please note that it was necessary to clear the contents of your shopping cart to resolve the issue you have been experiencing.”
I can indeed now access my Shopping Cart. Trouble is, it’s empty. I’ve just lost my entire musical wish-list.
Yes, I know I can create a playlist to store songs I want to download later. (Though, inconveniently, I can’t add albums to that list—only individual songs.) And that’s what I’ll be doing from now on. But I wish I’d had a chance to transfer my wish list from my Shopping Cart to a playlist before the former disappeared. I wish there’d been a less painful way to make the switch.
