Salling Software AB on Tuesday announced the release of Salling Clicker 3.0, an upgraded version of its remote control software. Upgrades from the previous release are free; new licenses cost $23.95 per user.
Salling Clicker enables you to control your computer using handheld devices, running PowerPoint or Keynote presentations, for example, selecting songs in iTunes, operating your EyeTV PVR and more. It also features proximity sensor support and call monitoring. In addition to built-in support for many popular Mac software applications, Salling Clicker features extensibility via AppleScript for other applications.
Up to now, Salling Clicker has depended on Bluetooth-enabled handhelds including phones and PDAs. Now, with this new release, users can utilize Wi-Fi equipped devices or computers as well.
Also new to this release is support for Windows XP computers. A network sharing feature allows the Mac version of Salling Clicker 3.0 to communicate with other computers on the home or office network.
Salling Clicker 3.0 boasts support for more than 90 handheld devices, including phones from Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and others, and PDAs and Pocket PCs from HP, Palm, Sony and others.
