Griffin Technology Inc. on Friday introduced the iFM with dock connector, a new version of their FM radio, remote control and voice recorder for the iPod. The new iFM will ship in mid-November for US$49.99.
The iFM lets your iPod tune in to FM radio stations, and can switch bands for US, European and Japanese FM frequencies. It can save six station presets per band, can toggle the iPod’s EQ settings and controls functions like play, pause, fast forward, rewind and volume.
Griffin’s original iFM features an interface designed to work with the top-mounted headphone jack and remote control on some iPod models. With the new iPod nano and fifth-generation iPod with video, that remote control interface is gone. Griffin said the iFM with dock connector works with on “click wheel” and video iPods, iPod nano, iPod mini and iPod photo models.
