Griffin Technology Inc. has introduced a new version of its AirClick remote control for the iPod, now equipped with a dock connector interface. It costs US$39.99 and is scheduled to ship in mid-November.
The AirClick uses Radio Frequency (RF) signals instead of the more commonly used Infra-Red (IR), so it can control iPods up to 60 feet away that don’t need to be in a line of sight to the remote — the signal carries through walls.
The AirClick ships with remote, receiver that attaches to the bottom of the iPod, remote cradle and strap which can be used to affix the remote to automobile steering wheel, bike handlebars and so on. The remote itself features five buttons: Play/pause, next track, previous track, volume up and down. It has a hold switch, and is equipped with a clip.
The AirClick with dock connector works with video-capable iPods, click wheel-equipped iPods, iPod minis and iPod photos.
