Vara Software Ltd. has released Wirecast v2.5, a new version of its webcasting software for Mac OS X. The new version supports multiple camera support. Wirecast 2.5 is a free update for 2.0 users and costs US$449.99.
Wirecast lets you create multimedia broadcast using multiple cameras, images, titles and movies. You can package up your selected content in “shots,” building a list of shots and transitioning between them with one click. Multiple layer support lets you place background music tracks and company logos onto your webcast.
A demo version is available for download. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.5 or later, QuickTime Streaming Server (QTSS) or Darwin Streaming Server (DSS) v4.1.3 or later for unicasting, a Quartz Extreme-capable graphics card, G3/500MHz or faster.
