PhotoVu LLC on Tuesday announced that its PV1945 and PV1750 wireless digital LCD picture frames work with Nikon’s Coolpix P1 and P2 digital cameras. Both those models of PhotoVu frames and those Nikon cameras feature built-in Wi-Fi wireless networking capability.
The PhotoVu is a digital picture frame you can mount on a wall that can store and display digital photos. Users can display photos stored on Mac OS X and Windows computers on the same Wi-Fi network, using a conventional Web browser to configure the PhotoVu frame. It works with Apple’s iPhoto software and Adobe Photoshop Album and Elements, and can also accommodate its own 80GB removable hard disk drive.
The PV1945 and PV1750 models can also cull content over a Wi-Fi network. And with this announcement, it’s possible to view the photos you’re taking using your Coolpix P1 or P2 camera as they’re being taken.
The Nikon Coolpix P1 and P2 feature built-in Wi-Fi connectivity so you can transfer digital images to a computer or printer without having to physically connect a cable. With the PhotoVu’s ability to view files over Wi-Fi, you can also set up the PhotoVu to show the Coolpix cameras’ contents.
