Freddie Geier has stepped down as Elgato Systems CEO to take over as Managing Director of Apple Germany, Elgato confirmed on Tuesday. Geier begins his second stint at Apple in November.
“Apple Germany is going to be led by a true entrepreneur, we congratulate them and we’re very happy for Freddie,” said Markus Fest, President and founder of Elgato Systems. “We’d like to express our deep gratitude to Freddie for his outstanding contribution and leadership over the last two years.”
Geier previously worked for Apple as the Senior Director Business Development, a position he left in 2003. Geier was responsible for overseeing the acquisition and integration of German-based Emagic — makers of Apple’s pro-level Logic Pro audio application.
As CEO of Elgato, Geier oversaw the introduction of several new products including the EyeTV and EyeHome digital media solutions.
Elgato Systems will continue to operate under the leadership of Dr. Markus Fest, the company said.
