MakeMusic Inc. has announced the release of Finale PrintMusic 2006, music notation software for Mac OS X and Windows. Designed for educators, worship directors, performing musicians, composers and arrangers who don’t require the advanced features in MakeMusic’s Finale software, PrintMusic 2006 costs US$69.95 (upgrades are available for $29.95).
Finale PrintMusic lets you create music scores; you can play a MIDI keyboard with a metronome and watch your music appear on the screen; MicNotator lets you play a brass or woodwind instrument into a mic, as well. You can click notes into place with a mouse, scan music using SmartScore Lite and more.
New features in this release let you save your scores as MP3 files; improves music scanning, auto-harmonizes into two- or three-part harmonies, automatic drum grooves; marching percussion; Music XML import and export, file compatibility with Finale 2006 and more.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later, 800 x 600 resolution, CD-ROM drive, 200MB hard disk drive space and 256MB RAM.
