Griffin Technology Inc. on Wednesday announced an update for its RoadTrip FM transmitter to accommodate Apple’s iPod nano and fifth-generation “video” iPod. A cradle for the nano is now included, and the RoadTrip now comes in either black or white. It costs US$89.99.
The RoadTrip connects to your automobile’s cigarette lighter or accessory port and transmits the iPod’s audio to your vehicle’s FM radio, connecting the iPod through its dock connector. When the iPod is attached, the RoadTrip charges its batteries. What’s more, the RoadTrip’s FM transmitter is removable, so you can transmit your iPod’s music to any nearby FM radio, to a clock radio in a hotel room, for example, or at home over your home entertainment system’s FM receiver.
The RoadTrip now works with any third, fourth or fifth-generation iPod, the iPod nano, iPod mini and iPod photo.
If you already have the Griffin RoadTrip and you’d just like the adapter for the nano, Griffin is providing the adapter for free, plus the cost of shipping.
