Sonic Impact has introduced i-Fusion, a new rechargeable, portable speaker case system for Apple’s iPod and iPod mini. It’s available online and at select retailers for US$149.99.
i-Fusion features four neodymium speaker drivers in a hard cover case. The system also uses “Maxxbass” technology and ported speaker enclosures to enhance bass response.
The i-Fusion sports a universal dock connector that works with iPods, iPod minis and iPod nanos, and also comes with a 3.5mm input jack to attach to other devices, such as iPod shuffles, CD players and more. (Additionally, Sonic Impact is readying the new “i-Pax,” a portable speaker system for the iPod shuffle.)
The dock connector allows the iPod to be charged while it’s connected. It runs off a rechargeable battery that’s good for 15 hours of play, and it comes with an AC adapter. Auto-standby mode conserves battery charge when it’s not being used.
The case features a pop-open door that can store any size iPod and a second compartment with lithium ion battery and room for earbuds.
