Announced in October and shipping later this month, Belkin Corp.’s TuneCast Auto works with iPod nano and fifth-generation (5G) video-capable iPods, according to the company. The TuneCast Auto costs US$59.99.
The TuneCast Auto lets you listen to your iPod’s music through your FM radio, and charges and powers yur iPod using your car’s cigarette lighter or accessory jack.
The TuneCast Auto features two programmable memory slots for toggling between open FM channels, and displays the frequency using a blue, backlit LCD. Velcro ties help keep the cables in place.
The FM transmitter can be set to any frequency on the FM dial from 88.1 to 107.9, and scans in 1/10th MHz intervals. A surface mount clip holds the TuneCast Auto in place while you drive, and the LCD display also shows you the iPod’s battery charging status.
