Autodesk Inc. on Wednesday announced Cleaner 6.5 for Macintosh. The update to its desktop media optimization and encoding software is expected to ship this winter for US$599; upgrades start at $125.
Cleaner is used to convert media from a variety of input formats to a variety of different delivery formats. It can be used to convert video to formats suited for Web distribution, CD-ROM, DVD, mobile devices and more.
New to the Mac version 6.5 release is support for encoding for DivX 6.0 and the addition of the Flix exporter, which allows for .FLV and .SWF output. Also new to this release is an updated Kinoma version 3 exporter, and support for H.264 (AVC)-formatted video using QuickTime. Real 10 is also supported in this new release.
Autodesk’s Web site had not been updated with information about Cleaner 6.5 as MacCentral posted this article.
