Apple has released a system firmware update for Power Mac G5 systems. The update is specifically for 1.8GHz, 600MHz bus-equipped Power Mac G5 single-processor systems manufactured in late 2004.
The update “improves the reliability of your Power Mac G5, especially after it has been inactive for two hours,” according to Apple.
The firmware update checks your machine to make sure the update can be applied before it actually runs.
The update measures 1MB and requires Mac OS X v10.4.3 or later. A separate version has been built for Macs running Mac OS X v10.3.9.
