O’Reilly on Tuesday announced the release of ” Mac OS X Tiger in a Nutshell,”their desktop reference book for Apple’s most recent release of Mac OS X. It costs US$39.95.
The book covers basic system and network administration features, like NetInfo and Directory Services, and provides an introduction to using the Terminal application. Overviews are given of Mac OS X’s Unix-based text editors, vi and emacs. The book also documents more than 300 Unix commands and offers info on shell syntax variables for bash, Tiger’s default Unix shell.
“Mac OS X Tiger in a Nutshell,” ISBN 0-596-009437, was written by Andy Lester, Chris Stone, Chuck Toporek and Jason McIntosh.
