M-Audio has announced two software bundles aimed at holiday shoppers looking for musical gifts. The iZotope 64-bit Studio Processing Bundle is available for US$449.95 and a separate GForce Future Retro Pack is also available for $449.95.
The iZotope bundle includes Ozone 3, Spectron and Trash. Ozone 3 combines analog modeling with 64-bit digital precision to deliver a complete integrated suite of mastering processors. With Ozone 3 all processing is done with one interface via 64-bit DSP.
Spectron uses 64-bit spectral domain processing to deliver control over selective frequency bands. Morphing, delay, chorus, filters, flanging and panning are a few of the effects possible with this plug-in.
Trash allows the user to selectively add distortion to tracks. It delivers guitar rig simulators, plus many subtler tone enhancements including tape saturation for vocals, overdrive for keyboards, fuzz on a lead guitar and others.
The GForce Future Retro Pack includes emulations of vintage keyboards. The plug-ins in this bundle include the Minimonsta:Melohman, The Oddity, impOSCar and M-Tron.
The M-Tron is a recreation of the Mellotron popularized by artists such as The Beatles, Yes, David Bowie and Led Zeppelin. It comes with over 2.5GB of real Mellotron samples including strings, choir, flutes, brass and more.
The Minimonsta:Melohman is an emulation of the classic Minimoog that was at the forefront of the analog synth revolution. The impOSCar is a reproduction of the classic OSCar synthesizer used by artists that include Stevie Wonder. The Oddity is an emulation of the classic ARP Odyssey — according to M-Audio, modern improvements include programmability, preset morphing, host-syncable LFO and automation.
All of the plug-ins require Mac OS X; specific system requirements for each plug-in is available from the company’s Web site.
