Torrance, Calif.-based Game peripheral maker Saitek Industries Inc. on Wednesday announced it’s shipping its new line of Digital Media Entertainment (DME) products. The black-clad line of audio products includes speakers and wireless headphones that work with Macs, PCs, iPods and other devices that feature 3.5mm headphone jack connectors.
The A200 is an all-in-one 2.1 speaker system designed to be portable, especially good for users of laptops and iPod/MP3 player users who want beefier sound. The oddly shaped triangular speakers features an Expanded Air Volume System (EAVS) that creates a resonating chamber to boost bass. Priced at US$99, the A200 works for 24 hours on 4 AAA batteries and can also be plugged in using an included AC adapter. A tri-state LED indicates battery status.
The $99 A350 wireless headphones use Bluetooth to communicate with a Mac, PC, iPod or any other device with a 3.5mm headphone jack, up to 25 feet away. The headphones feature a behind-the-head design, and use a wireless dongle that’s connected to the host computer or device to transmit audio, and use a rechargeable lithium polymer battery that works for 8 hours at a charge (an AC charger is incuded). An integrated volume control rests on one side of the headphones.
Saitek also introduced its $129 A-250 wireless speaker system, which the company said works with PCs only.
