GenieCommands is a new software application for Mac users who want to integrate their computers into their home entertainment center. The software controls applications using simple menus. A demo is available, and it costs US$19.95 to register.
GenieCommands lets you edit the menu selections to control the Mac as you want. Examples of how it can be used include managing iTunes music libraries, playlists and party shuffles; watching TV (using TV or PVR applications), video conferencing, backups and more. The developers describe GenieCommands as providing “a kiosk push button environment” for the Mac.
System requirements call for 1.42GHz or faster processor, 512MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9200 or better 3D graphics with at least 32MB VRAM.
