Kinemac has released the 1.0.0 version of its eponymous 3D real time animation software for Mac OS X. Kinemac costs US$249, and requires Mac OS X v10.3 or later.
Kinemac enables users to create 3D animations using 2D presentation-style tools. You drag images, text, movies and songs onto the Kinemac “stage” to animate them, and you can create 3D and 2D objects including cubes, cylinders, spheres, tubes and much more. You can apply image and movie textures and set surface attributes including color, transparency and reflection.
Once you’ve created animations, you can play them in real time in full screen mode, or export them as QuickTime movies or as series of still images. Kinemac’s developers hope the software will appeal to users who want to create TV advertising, movie trailers, video clips and more.
If you’ve tried the earlier version, which was first released in September, this 1.0.0 release features dramatically improved 3D OBJ rendering speed, the ability to authorize and deauthorize your license, the addition of new parameters to the object sphere, the addition of the Star object and much more — release notes have been posted online.
