IDG World Expo on Tuesday announced a focus on music and audio for the upcoming
Macworld Conference & Expo, which takes place January 9 – 13, 2005 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif.
The Berklee College of Music — the world-renown music school in Boston, Mass. — will feature the Dream Studio, a state-of-the-art music studio filled with Mac hardware and software. This self-guided tour is open to all Exhibit Hall attendees.
Several Mac and music-related educational sessions will be featured, as well — the “Mastering Logic” Power Tools Conference, the “Podcasters” market symposium, the “Garageband 101,” “The iPod Revealed” and “The Podcast Economy” events, which are open to all Exhibit Hall attendees.
The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus will also be onhand — it’s a mobile recording and multimedia studio used by students to record their own music. Jazz artists Joshua Redman will be present on January 10 to discuss how the Mac factors into his music-making.
Several music-related exhibitors plan to show, including Harman Multimedia, Musitek, Guitar Center and others.
A new Exhibit Hall feature called the Podcasting Stage will be the venue where podcasters can conduct live interviews from the floor of the show.
And IDG World Expo plans the “Macworld Auto Show” — several custom cars from leading manufacturers, including Volkswagen, Porsche and Buick, all equipped with iPod and Mac integration.
IDG World Expo and Macworld are both owned by International Data Group (IDG).
