Apple announced on Tuesday that it is opening a new retail store in Sheffield, England on December 10, it will be the company’s fifth retail store in the United Kingdom. The Apple Store Meadowhall will open on Saturday December 10th at 9.00 AM, according to the ifoAppleStore, which also noted a “soft opening” could occur sooner.
The store is located in the Meadowhall Shopping Centre, in Sheffield. The first 1,000 visitors to the store will get a free Apple T-shirt. Visitors can also register to the Grand Opening Sweepstake through January 10, 2006, to win a Digital Lifestyle Collection valued at £1,855 (around $3,200), which includes a 20” iMac G5 2.1GHz, a 4GB iPod nano, a Nikon 5600, a Canon MV800 and a HP PSC 1610 Printer.
An opening day iPod and iTunes workshop is scheduled for December 10 at 10 AM. Other workshops in the opening week will focus on .Mac, iDVD, iPhoto, iWork, iLife, iMovie, and GarageBand, as well as a “Getting Started” workshop.
Apple Store Meadowhall is Apple’s fifth store in the U.K. Apple has opened locations in Manchester, Kent, Birmingham and London, as well.
