A new program from Script Software lets anyone synchronize lyrics with digital music files and view them in iTunes and on the iPod.
iStar Composer 1.0, released Tuesday, takes any MP3 or AAC music files, find lyrics online, and synchronizes the music with those lyrics during playback. The program works with both user-created files or songs bought from the iTunes Music Store.
“You can embed the lyrics into any song, and they will play along with the music,” Script Software CEO Julian Miller said.
Synced lyrics display in the bottom left corner of iTunes (in the album art and video window). On a color-screen or video-capable iPod iPod, the lyrics appear in the main window.
iStar Composer, which requires Mac OS X 10.4 and QuickTime 7.0.3, is available immediately for $30.
