Griffin Technology Inc. on Friday announced that its iTrip FM transmitter for iPods is now shipping in black, to match black video iPods. The iTrip costs $49.99.
The iTrip lets you listen to your iPod through a nearby FM receiver — particularly useful for iPod owners whose automobiles don’t have an iPod or auxiliary input. It includes a backlit LCD screen that shows you what station you’re tuned to, and a switch on the side lets you adjust the broadcast frequency.
The iTrip is designed to work with third, fourth and fifth generation iPods, iPod U2 Special Edition and iPod photos — it attaches through the dock connector on the bottom of these modes. It’s also available in white to match other iPod models, and in a version suited to Apple’s iPod nano.
