ezGear on Wednesday introduced the ezSound 2.1 speaker system for Apple’s iPod. The ezSound costs $109.98 and is available today.
The three speaker ezSound is a desktop speaker system with a true subwoofer. It can be powered by batteries or an AC adapter — when used with the AC adapter, it also charges the iPod’s batteries.
A dock connector to attach a third, fourth or fifth generation iPod, iPod mini or iPod nano. A audio cable connects the ezSound to other sources, including the iPod shuffle.
It can also connect to the Mac using FireWire or USB, and synchronizes data with the iPod. A fold out lift on the bottom keeps the speaker off the table, and four foam rubber bumpers keep the speaker from sliding around.
The system includes two one-inch tweeters and a 2.5 inch vented subwoofer, with crossover circuits. The ezSound measures 4 x 5.25 x 1.625 inches and weighs less than 10 ounces, according to ezGear.
