Griffin Technology on Friday announced that it is shipping its AirClick remote for most iPods with dock connectors. The AirClick was previously released for iPods with remote ports next to their headphone jacks. The AirClick costs $39.99.
The AirClick base connects to the bottom of iPod photos, iPod U2 Special Editions, fourth- and fifth-generation iPods through the dock connector. It uses Radio Frequency (RF) technology to communicate with a tiny remote control, which enables users to skip to next track, play previous track, play/pause and volume up/down — it can also control video playback, for fifth-generation iPods. The remote also includes a hold switch to prevent you from accidentally activating it.
A remote cradle and straps are included, for attaching the remote to an automobile steering wheel, bicycle handlebars or elsewhere.
