If you own a 5G iPod and have taken the time to compare the organization of videos in iTunes and on that iPod, you may have noticed that you have very little control over how videos are organized, by default, on the iPod. Click the Movies command in the Videos screen and you’ll discover that, like it or not, your videos are arranged in alphabetical order.
Should you wish to shift the order of your movies you can do so in a couple of different ways. The first is to bow to the alphabetical construct of this Movies menu and rename your videos so they appear in the order you want—01. My Movie, 02. This Other Movie, 03. I Really Like This Movie, for example.
Alternatively, put a video playlist to good use. Just create a playlist—either in iTunes if you sync automatically or on the iPod if you sync manually—drag your videos into this playlist, click the first column heading (the one before Name), and arrange the videos in the order you like. Put the playlist on your iPod and the videos will appear in the order you designated.
