Next month’s Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco, Calif. will feature a “social networking tool” from
Jambo Networks, according to the show’s producer, IDG World Expo.
Jambo’s software lets WiFi-connected users discover each other in proximity. It’s been developed as a social networking tool to help people find industry peers, customers, friends and enthusiasts with similar interests who are nearby.
The system works both online and offline, and can detect other Jambo users up to six blocks away. Jambo also provides an online community site for Macworld Expo attendees to browse each others’ profiles.
