IntelliScanner today unveiled the new IntelliScanner Home Inventory bundle for Mac OS X and Windows, a solution for tracking assets and belongings in the home. The complete kit includes an IntelliScanner personal barcode reader, asset and media tracking software, along with 250 pre-printed barcode tags to place on any object.
The new Home Inventory bundle also includes Home Assets software to track any kind of item. Users can print reports, burn detailed information to a CD for insurance purposes, track depreciation, store digital photos, and more.
The included Media Collector software is designed to organize books, movies, music, and games in a database using barcode technology. The software automatically fills in details as items are scanned in.
Home Inventory bundle is available for $179, which includes a USB barcode scanner, or $279 for the portable model featuring Bluetooth wireless technology or PC serial connection. Prices will increase to $199 and $299, respectively, after Macworld Expo ends on Friday.
The company is also shipping Kitchen Companion 100, a new handheld barcode scanner and software bundle for smart grocery shopping and nutrition/recipe management.
Kitchen Companion is powered by an Internet database of over 300,000 grocery items. Scan the barcode on anything as it’s thrown away, then download the information like a digital camera for complete details including the name, brand, category, shopping section, and size. Users can print out a categorized shopping list, or send thelist to an iPod, Palm, or cell phone.
Kitchen Companion 100 is fully portable with an integrated 500 barcode memory chip, making it easy to scan groceries anywhere and download them to the computer. The scanner is Bluetooth wireless, and is now available at an introductory price of $249 through January 13th.
