Elgato Systems announced EyeTV version 2.0. EyeTV 2, a digital video recording (DVR) solution is available immediately for an introductory price of $49.
EyeTV 2 features an integrated TV guide which displays broadcast schedules within the EyeTV main window and retrieves information from digital broadcasts and from online TV guide services.
The interface is also redesigned. Users can use drag and drop to manage EyeTV recordings, channels, and schedules, all in the same window. Users can manage recordings with playlists, organize shows with flexible sorting options, and create favorite channel lists for quick access to the TV channels. EyeTV recordings can be moved and renamed in the Finder, and exported to an iPod or burned to DVD with one click.
EyeTV 2 is available for $49 until March 31, 2006. Afterward it will go up to $79. Users who bought EyeTV hardware or software after Dec. 1, 2005 are entitled to a free update.
System requirements include a Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G4 (500 MHz or faster) or G5 processor, 256 MB of physical RAM, Mac OS X v10.4.3 or later, as well as an Internet connection or digital TV feed for optional electronic program guide.
