Information Appliance Associates, makers of the PocketMac syncing software, and Research In Motion, makers of the BlackBerry handheld, announced that they will offer PocketMac for BlackBerry as a free download beginning in February. PocketMac for BlackBerry lets Mac users to synchronize data between a BlackBerry devices and Macintosh programs, including core Mac OS X 10.4 applications and Microsoft Entourage.
A desktop program, the application synchronizes the e-mail, contacts, calendar, tasks and notes of Microsoft Entourage, OS X’s Address Book and iCal, Now Up-to-Date & Contact, Marketcircle DayLite, and Stickies, among other applications.
Research in Motion has licensed the complete version of PocketMac for BlackBerry from Information Appliance Associates, and the companies plan ongoing collaboration on products.
Information Appliance Associates has offered a PocketMac version for BlackBerry since 2004.
