Fifth-generation iPod owners will be able to watch videos stored on their music players through a pair of glasses from MicroOptical. The company has released the myvu Personal Media Viewer in the U.S., after making a version of the glasses available in France for the Samsung D600 cell phone.
The myvu viewer routes video and audio from the iPod to a pair of sunglass-style eyewear, allowing users to watch and listen to the content from their iPod without looking at its screen. The glasses give video a large-screen effect; users can watch from any position without having to hold the iPod in front of their faces.
The myvu Personal Media Vieweris available exclusively at Macworld Expo at the MicroOptical booth (#849) for $269. The company expects to ship the glasses in spring.
