Western Digital Corp. on Thursday announced it’s shipping its 500GB Serial ATA (SATA) WD Caviar SE16 desktop hard drives. The drives are available for $349.99, and can be installed inside Power Mac G5 systems.
The WD Caviar SE16 spins at 7200RPM and is equipped with 16MB cache. It can transfer data at up to 300MB/sec, according to Western Digital.
