Auran, the developers of Trainz, a railroad simulator, are
seeking beta testers to help them shake the bugs out of a forthcoming Mac version.
“We are looking for committed people with the right stuff to test, test and test some more,” said a company spokesperson in the Trainz discussion forum.
Minimum system requirements for the game call for a 1GHz or faster processor, 32MB VRAM, 512MB RAM and 1024 x 768 screen resolution.
Trainz is a detailed railroad simulator designed for railroading enthusiasts, model railroading hobbyists and others that love trains. You can act as the engineer, maneuvering your trail through high speed passenger runs, industrial yards, logging camps and more. You can also experience life as a yardmaster, managing drivers and making sure trains are in the right place at the right time. You can build your own routes, or become operations manager, setting production levels, commodity requirements and more.
Features include more than 50 real-world locomotives, with the ability to download more from the Trainz Web site. A detailed physics engine has been verified by real train engineers, and complete 3D cab recreations have been built.
