MaxUpgrades on Tuesday announced its MaxConnect ATA/IDE for Power Mac G5s. The assembly enables users to install a third disk drive without requiring a PCI host controller card to be installed first. It costs $79.
The MaxConnect ATA/IDE assembly can allow up to a 500GB hard disk drive to be installed. It’s made of aluminum and ships with a power cable and ATA data cable. It’s housed in the Power Mac G5’s PCI expansion bay. It features two bolts for disk drive attachments, and exposes maximum area for heat dissipation.
