Radical Breeze announced on Monday an update to PictoGrab, its automated picture downloading utility for Mac OS X. New to the 1.1 release is support for photocasting, a new feature of Apple’s recently released iPhoto 6. A free update for registered users, PictoGrab costs $14.95.
Photocasting enables you to share photos with other Mac and PC users using Really Simple Syndication (RSS). If you have iPhoto 6, users, the photocasted photos will be automatically downloaded to and added to your library.
“Photocasts are awesome, but what if you don’t have Apple’s iPhoto? Downloading the pictures from a Photocast then can become a royal pain,” explained Radical Breeze President Bryan Lund.
Pictograb can automate this process — you simply drop or copy the photocast’s URL onto PictoGrab, which then downloads the images for you.
Version 1.1 also contains performance and usability improvements, according to Radical Breeze.
