Apple on Wednesday released Backup 3.1, a new version of its backup software for users of its .Mac service. The update is available through the Software Update system preference.
Backup 3.1 delivers added support for some backup destinations and addresses file restoration and other issues, according to Apple, which recommends that all Backup 3.0 users update to the new version.

Backup 3.1 requires a G3 or better (including Intel-based Macs), Mac OS X v10.3.9 or Mac OS X v10.4.2 or later.
