WeatherBug, a provider of live weather information services, unveiled new Mac-compatible offerings on Thursday. The new products include a Mac Web browser tool, Dashboard widget, Yahoo! Widget and more.
WeatherBug bills itself as the largest exclusive weather network in the world, and counts 8,000 tracking stations and more than 1,000 cameras across the U.S. The company offers information to help individuals, schools, businesses and government agencies receive weather information.
WeatherBug on Thursday released the final version of Weatherbug Lite Mac, a Web browser-based tool for seeing weather information. WeatherBug Lite Mac runs on Mac OS X v10.2 or later,
Also available is WeatherBug’s Local Weather Dashboard Widget, for Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger.” This puts forecast, radar, news and severe weather alert information into your Dashboard.
WeatherBug has also released a Local Weather Widget for Yahoo! Widget Engine v3.0 or later. Offering similar information to what’s available in the Dashboard widget, this version has been designed to work with Yahoo!’s Widget Engine — the product formerly known as Konfabulator, available for Mac OS X and Windows.
A plug-in for the Firefox Web browser is also available.
