If you’re an artist or designer who works on video games and you’d like to show off your abilities to the game industry, you might be interested in a showcase that’s returning to this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) called “ Into the Pixel.” The show’s coordinators are now accepting submissions.
Now in its third year, “Into the Pixel” celebrates and explores the art of video games. Hosted in conjunction with the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and the Prints & Drawings Council of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the exhibit happens as part of E3, which returns to Los Angeles in May.
Art submissions can be taken from published or soon to be published computer and video games. Entry is open to Academy members and E3 exhibitors, and artists can submit up to three original works. Deadline is March 3, 2006 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.
Jurors on this year’s Into the Pixel committee include Kevin Salatino of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Cynthia Burlingham of UCLA’s Grunwald Center, freelance artist Ryan Church (formerly of Industrial Light & Magic) and others. More details are available at the Into the Pixel Web site.
