Newer Technology Inc. and Other World Computing on Tuesday announced the shipment of the miniStack V2, an updated version of their expansion system for Apple’s Mac mini. The device features internal storage, USB and FireWire port expansion, and prices starting at $79.95.
The miniStack V2 provides from 80 to 500GB of additional hard disk storage capacity — NewerTech also sells an “add your own hard drive” version. The miniStack also features two additional FireWire ports and three more USB 2.0 ports, two of each port are on the back, while one of each is on the side. Additional FireWire and USB 2.0 ports connect the miniStack V2 to the Mac.
Prices start at $79.95 for the driveless version. The 80GB unit costs $135.99; capacities run up to 500GB for $449.99.
