GEAR4 (formerly PodGear) on Tuesday announced the PocketParty V2, a new “micro speaker system” for all dock connector-equipped iPods. It costs $39.
PocketParty is a cable-free external speaker system. It weighs 52 grams (1.84 ounces) and outputs 1 watt of stereo sound. It doesn’t drain the iPod’s internal battery; instead, it’s powered by a single AA battery, which lasts for about 10 hours, according to GEAR4.
The PocketParty V2 comes in either black or white finishes to complement newer iPods and iPod nanos.
