CryptoCard on Wednesday announced a Universal Binary version of Crypto-Server 6.4 for Mac OS X, its authentication system for Macs in enterprise environments. The news comes on the cusp of Apple’s announcement that Intel Duo Core-based MacBook Pro systems are shipping.
Crypto-Server is a two-tier authentication system that relies on both a token and a secret personal identification number. It works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux operating systems, and supports Apache and IIS Web servers.
Other new features of Crypto-Server 6.4 include a new machine-to-machine architecture that features a smaller footprint; a second authentication system to guard Apple’s own Keychain Access application and more.
