Reader ML finds herself at an iDisk impasse. She writes:
I am bogged down trying to publish my first ever web site for my MUG (2 whole pages w/ 4 links!) using iWeb. I just bought a totally new .Mac account for the MUG I am Ambassador of and I am afraid there is no info anywhere that I can find on how to manage two different accounts and iDisks from one computer.
‘tis true that when you attempt to access two different iDisks from the same user account you’ll find yourself in a jam (or pickle, depending on whether you prefer sweet or savory). However, if you access each from different user accounts, you’re good to go—and therein lies the solution.
Open System Preferences, click the Accounts tab, and create a new user account with Administrative privileges. Switch to this account, click the .Mac preference, and chortle with glee when you find that the .Mac Member Name and Password fields are blissfully empty. Enter your second .Mac identity here and do all your iWeb work for this identity within this user account.
When you wish to muck with your original .Mac account, simply switch to that user account and muck away.
