Maxon Computer on Thursday announced the release of Cinebench 9.5, a new version of its performance benchmarking tool for Mac and Windows systems. The new version is a Universal Binary that runs natively on Intel-based Macs. It’s available for free download.
Based on Maxon’s own Cinema 4D software, Cinebench tests the performance capabilities of a Mac or PC especially as they relate to its 3D rendering capabilities. The software supports multiple processors and multicore systems, and pushes hard on software-only and OpenGL-based shading tests to see how fast your computer can push out animated polygons.
Also new to this release is support for 64-bit Windows systems.
Mac System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later, 1GHz or faster processor and 512MB RAM.
