Samsung on Tuesday introduced the SyncMaster 204B — its newest 20.1-inch LCD display, now available at retailers for $629.99.
The new display uses Samsung’s “MagicTune” technology to adjust colors automatically when they need to be corrected. It operates in three different modes: Intelligent Mode, where it enhances color quality except specific colors whose changes will be recognized; Full Mode, a full color enhancement including skin tones; and Demo Mode, which lets you view the original and improved images on the left or right. “MagicBright” also lets you adjust brightness levels depending on what you’re doing.
The SyncMaster 204B has 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution and 800:1 contrast ratio, along with brightness of 300 cd/m2. It features a pixel pitch of 0.255 mm and horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 160 degrees. Samsung measures the monitor’s response time at 5 milliseconds.
The display is available in black or white cabinets and measures 17.5 x 16.8 x 7.9 inches with the stand, weighing 16.9 pounds. The SyncMaster 204B features a 15-pin D-sub analog RGB interface as well as Digital Visual Interface (DVI-D). It comes with a four-way adjustable stand that lets you adjust pivot, heigh, tilt and swivel. What’s more, the SyncMaster 204B is VESA mount compatible.
