Blackmagic Design has announced the Universal Binary version of its HDLink 2.1 software. The software powers Blackmagic’s HDLink interface. HDLink costs $695; the version 2.1 software update is free.
The HDLink hardware interface makes it possible to view post-production quality Serial Digital Interface (SDI) video on any DVI-D monitor or HDMI television. HDLink can switch between High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) and features 4:2:2 and Dual Link 4:4:4 video quality. HDLink also has two unbalanced audio outputs.
In addition to support for Intel-based Macs, the new software release features automatic detection of DVI-D or HDMI display types, improves 24 PsF mode and adds HD 720p/50 support for DVI-D and HDMI.
