Faronics announced on Wednesday the release of a Universal Binary version of Deep Freeze Mac, their security software for Macs. Deep Freeze costs $29.95 per system; volume discounts are available.
Deep Freeze Mac works by maintaining a standard image containing a Mac OS X system with applications and anything else the administrator wants. When the system is restarted, the standard image is loaded. This guarantees “bulletproof protection,” according to the company, since any changes that are made are temporary.
What’s more, systems can be configured to maintain user data and settings between restarts, so users don’t have to worry about losing their work. And Deep Freeze integrates with Apple’s system management software, Apple Remote Desktop.
