AJA Video Systems Inc. on Monday announced their Kona LSe, a PCI Expess version of their Standard Definition (SD) video capture card for video pros using Power Mac G5s. The new card will be available on March 20, 2006 fo $995.
The Kona LSe is essentially the same card as AJA’s Kona LS, but with a PCI Express interface for newer Power Mac G5 systems. The card features 12 bit component or composite/S-video analog I/O, 10 bit SDI input, two independent SDI outputs, AES I/O, same rate conversion on input, balanced analog audio I/O, six channel SDI embedded audio support, Genlock, RS-422 machine control and more.
The card supports QuickTime-based pro video editing software and works with Apple Final Cut pro, Adobe After Effects, Combustion, Motion and other applications.
AJA Video Systems includes standard cables with the unit; the company’s KL-Box-LH breakout box is sold separately.
AJA continues to offer the Kona LS card for video editors working with Power Macs that include PCI card interfaces.
